The Republic of the Philippines is is located in South East Asia, and comprises 7,107 islands called the Philippine Archipelago. It borders the Philippine Sea on the east, the South China Sea the west, and the Celebes Sea on the south. The island of Borneo lies a few hundred kilometers southwest and Taiwan directly north. The Philippines is a democracy, comprising XXXX with the Capital city being in Mainla on the island of Luzon. Major cities include Cebu, Quezon City, and Davao. The majority of the population is Roman Catholic 80.9%, Evangelical 2.8%, Iglesia ni Kristo 2.3%, Aglipayan 2%, other Christian 4.5%, Muslim 5%, other 1.8%, unspecified 0.6%, none 0.1%.
